11.10.08

The sun is shining and I couldn’t be happier! The past few weeks have been incredibly dreary. I was beginning to think the weather would stay this way forever, and for a girl who thrives on sunshine, life was looking a little bleak. Okay, okay, not too bleak, ‘cause in about two weeks I, Dana Baker, will be on the tropical Hawaiian island of Oahu. Twelve days! I am looking forward to twelve days of blue sky and sunshine, palm trees, sandy beaches, scenic drives, good food and catching up with friends. Oops, I almost forgot about shopping, and there WILL be shopping! Klynt likes to randomly call me with updates. “We only have twenty days, nine hours, twelve minutes and thirty-one seconds left!” I think working sixty hours per week and most weekends has really taken its toll. He also likes to remind me that Hawaii is one of the three States he has never visited. Yes, he has been to forty-seven out of all fifty States. Until recently, I barely made it out of Michigan. Well, look at me now.

Thanks! We can't wait. Hey, do you have any recommendations on what to see and do while in Oahu?

What about beautiful NJ? When will you return here??
Just kidding - kind of - have fun on vacation, and does Klynt's calculating not reek of an engineer. I would call Kami and tell her something like, "We leave this month ... or next, wait, I forget, but it's coming soon ...I think..."

I'm not gonna lie Dana...
we didn't do ANYTHING when we were in Hawaii! We were so excited to have nothing on the agenda so we took full advantage of it! Waikiki was really crowded especially the beaches so we just stayed by the pool and lounged all week. It was super nice to relax. I hear taking a drive around the island is really pretty though! That's all I got :)

Jack - Klynt and I would love to visit NJ again. It may not be in the near future, but we'll be back. :)

Whit - Laying around the pool all day doesn't sound like a bad idea. We have a few things on the agenda but relaxing tops the list. Coach you say? Hmmm...

If you have never been to Pearl Harbor, go! It is incredibly moving.
